Data Transfer and Security on Dataiku Cloud#

Dataiku recognizes the importance of securing data transfer between your Dataiku instances and your databases.

The major cloud providers have developed their own native features for direct, secure communication. These features ensure that your database isn’t exposed to the public internet, thereby minimizing security risks, reducing exposure to potential threats, and enhancing overall data protection.

If these native features aren’t a valid option for your infrastructure, Dataiku also provides additional tools like IP allowlisting or a VPN server.

Warning

For convenience, every Dataiku Cloud subscription includes a designated amount of object storage in an S3 bucket. This data storage isn’t backed up. Versioning isn’t activated, and no lifecycle policies are defined.

Administrators should update the preferred fallback for data and uploads under Administration > Settings > Engines & connections > Dataset creation settings to a connection owned by their organization. This allows you to fully manage and govern this source, including backups.
